Carolyn Beard is a scholar, author, and pastor working on modern Jewish thought and culture, the Jewish-Christian encounter, and the problem of evil. Currently a PhD candidate in the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto, she is an alumna of Princeton University and Harvard Divinity School. Her work on the early political life of “Holocaust martyr” St. Edith Stein has been published in English and German, and she is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Carolyn lives outside of Niagara Falls, New York with her husband, Michael, their dog, Peaches, and their two cats, Maui and Potato.
